CTSA achieves top rating in Excellence Awards
PORT ELIZABETH, South Africa, 18 July 2017 – Continental Tyre SA has received the highest rating for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives in South Africa within the tyre sector at the PMR Africa Excellence Awards. While all other major tyre manufacturers were rated in this category, CTSA stood head and shoulders above the rest, with a mean score of 4.16 out of a possible 5.00 and was awarded the Diamond Arrow Award. The results were based on a survey conducted from October to December 2016.
The purpose of the awards is to celebrate excellence and serve to acknowledge and honour those organisations that stand out in terms of their achievements. They serve also to set a benchmark to which others can aspire.
Respondents nominate and rate the CSR initiatives managed by company and institutions across industry sectors on a number of attributes and criteria. These are evaluated on a scale of between 1.00 (poor) and 5.00 (outstanding). Ratings are determined on the perceptions of respondents and the results are published according to business sector and category achievements. Amongst the criteria are commitment to communities and employees, corporate governance, employment equity and Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment, environmental care and social upliftment.
“We are thrilled to once more be the recipient of this award as it gives recognition to our teams for their hard work and volunteerism that goes into every project we support” explained Jiminy Bosman, PR and Communications Manager for CTSA. “At the end of the day, there are many successful teams that make up a successful, highly rated organisation and CTSA is no exception.
“The award serves to assist us in establishing a culture of gratitude within CTSA, which is in keeping with our theme for this year, which is ‘For One Another’,” she added.
